ENERGY WORK – STAYING GROUNDED
There are a number of ways a healer can help clients to become more grounded when they feel "spacey" or "floating" following a Reiki session. These are a few helpful suggestions.
- Eating meat or protein. Protein will help keep a person’s energy grounded.
Also useful for helping to ground our energies are our root vegetables. Root chakra foods are potatoes, radishes, onions, turnips, peanuts, carrots, beets, garlic, and so on.
Red is the color associated with the root chakra. Visualizing is an easy tool to help with grounding. Imagining the color red and maintaining your focus on it will assist you in staying connected to the earth's grounding energies. Sometimes it is easier to visualize objects rather than colors, so imagine a big juicy apple, or the fleshy insides of a watermelon. Take this step even further by visualizing the planting of watermelon or apple seeds that root themselves deeply into the soil.
- Imagine being a tree that extends its roots into the ground. Imagine you are able to draw healing energies from the earth source.
- Take care of routine household tasks that remind you of your everyday life.
- Do "earthy" things. Plant, weed or water a garden. Water indoor plants.
- Put stones in your bathtub and take a long bath.
- Slowly drink a large glass of water.
- An exercise done by practitioners of T'ai chi is aimed at grounding the individual and providing a sense of harmony with the universe.
THE BOW Stand with feet about 10" apart toes slightly turned in so as to stretch some of the muscles of the buttocks. Bend forward and touch the floor with the fingers of both hands. The knees should be slightly bent. No weight should be on the hands. Let the head drop as much as possible. Breathe through the mouth easily and deeply. Keep breathing.
ANYTHING THAT BRINGS YOU JOY AND CONNECTS YOU TO YOUR LIFE WILL HELP YOU FEEL GROUNDED
