REIKI PRINCIPLES
THERE ARE FIVE REIKI PRINCIPLES THAT CAN HELP GUIDE US THROUGH OUR EVERYDAY LIVES AND ACTIVITIES. TRY TO APPLY ONE OF THESE PRINCIPLES TO YOUR LIFE EACH DAY AND SEE WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT CAN MAKE.
The principles are underlined. Following this I have added some additional thoughts that might be helpful.
JUST FOR TODAY I WILL LIVE THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
It is easy to forget how much we already have. Being grateful and acknowledging our many blessings can enrich us. It is important to value and appreciate what is already present in our lives.
JUST FOR TODAY I WILL NOT WORRY
Thoughts are energy that form our reality. Visualize the worries being coped with. Breakdown the worries into small parts so that a plan of action can be devised and goals for coping with the worries can be created.
JUST FOR TODAY I WILL NOT ANGER
Anger can destroy so much and cause so much pain. Anger is a conscious choice and sometimes just a reaction out of habit. We can choose not to be angry……just for today.
JUST FOR TODAY I WILL DO MY WORK HONESTLY
We must learn to respect whatever work it is that we do. We must honor ourselves by doing our best to create a feeling of satisfaction in that work. Work each day toward personal growth and spiritual development and remember we are our life's work.
JUST FOR TODAY I WILL SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT FOR EVERY LIVING THING
We must try to honor and respect all living things that we interact with in our lives. Everyone we meet will in some way teach us or we will in turn teach him or her. We are all helping each other to learn and grow.
